Education in pharmaceutical sciences boosted by data science

The Center for Pharmaceutical Data Science Education (CPDSE) is dedicated to developing research-based education for the future workforce of drug experts, spanning bachelor, master, PhD and life-long learning levels. Pharmaceutical sciences students from the University of Copenhagen (UCPH) and the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) will become bilinguals speaking both “data and drugs”. CPDSE aims to work closely with students, university teachers and researchers, as well as professionals from the pharmaceutical industry to ensure education that is relevant, collaborative, and aligned with real-world needs.

The center is supported by seven departments, each contributing distinct strengths in pharmaceutical sciences, data science, and science education.

Mission
Research

We are working toward the systematic integration of pharmaceutical data science into academic curricula. Our educational materials are open source, ensuring equitable access both within and beyond participating universities. Through this approach, we advance pharmaceutical data science education for learners at different stages of the educational ladder.

We provide consultations to help you enter data science, overcome project challenges, and build data literacy. We also run workshops and coding events, creating a safe and collaborative space to practice and advance your data science skills.

We develop hands-on educational materials to embed and expand data science in university curricula, while also training educators to support teaching in pharmaceutical data science. Additionally, we participate in research projects, providing data-driven and methodological expertise.

We reach beyond university borders by creating opportunities for networking and continuous knowledge exchange. Through workshops, symposiums, and community events, we provide platforms for sharing experiences, developing new skills, and staying up to date with advances in data science.
